This week’s episode of Love and Hip Hop: New York opens with James R. and Sophia the Body playing house. Granted, he does wake up alone but Sophia’s in the next room making breakfast, talking about returning the favor because he “opened up his home to her.” In actuality though, if it wasn’t for James and his dog gift, you wouldn’t have been put out in the first place. But we digress.
James goes on to invite Sophia to his single release party. Then he asks, “James R., what do you think about James R.?” Ew. Still doing the third person thing, we see.
“Just because Jaquae and I are not in a relationship anymore does not mean that I’m James R.’s girl,” Sophia says in her confessional. Welp, y’all were tonguing by the end of this scene so we guess…
Meanwhile, Jonathan is going through his own issues with his boyfriend of six months, Trent Crews. Apparently, Trent isn’t pulling his weight in strengthening their relationship. Now he’s claiming that his past stint as a in the streets is the main factor of why he can’t trust people enough to love them. Or something. He says that he ended up homeless after his pending record deal fell through.

Later on, Jonathan tries to surprise his man at the studio but he’s nowhere to be found; this gets the wheels turning in Jon’s mind and he concocts a plan to catfish the hell out of Trent via Grinder, by playing the role of Raul from the Grand Concourse in The Bronx and he fell for it all, sending dick pics and all. Jon follows him down the street for answers and dude just keeps walking, never explains his actions or anything. Poor thing.
Papoose found an IVF doctor for Remy after getting told off last week. They had some tests done and now they know for a fact that they are perfect candidates for the procedure. Lovely. Our best wishes to those two.

Mama Shirley pops up on Safaree and Juju as they discuss the play she’s adapting from her book. She approves of ol’ girl upon her departure but as we all know Juju is in a long-term relationship with Cam’Ron and Safaree doesn’t want those problems. So although Mama hints towards wanting someone like her for her son, he emphasizes that that someone can’t be Juju. He also comes to the conclusion that he can’t bring Dream Doll around because she doesn’t fit the mold. At all.
Juju also taps Bianca to play a major role in the production and at the auditions, she showcases her skills. Not too bad, B. While there, Juju also shares with her sister that she and Cam have been growing apart as of late. This news broke our hearts. After 10 years? Damn.
Snoop, Self and Jaquae sit down for drinks and conversation and share that James R. tagged them in an invite for his video release party. Jaquae says that they ought to give James what he wants and attend, Snoop is hesitant but agrees to go, which ends up being a mess of course. She should’ve gone with her first mind because the minute they get in, James is needling all three of them. He calls them “the opps,” Snoop steps to the task of checking dude. He responds, “Listen lil’ shorty you don’t even know nothing about it…” and he bumps her pretty aggressively. “She shouldn’t touch my jacket…,” he says aloud to no one in particular. Wack ass. Are we crazy for thinking Snoop could probably knock his ass out for real?
Either way, link up next week and we’ll see how it goes when Mariahlynn falls through to topple James’ ice sculpture and Trent responds to Jonathan with paperwork.
