Freddie Gibbs Signing To CTE

In a recent interview with Hip-Hop blog The Rap Up, Indiana rapper Freddie Gibbs spoke on his new situation with Jeezy’s Corporate Thugz Entertainment.

“I get to control what I do,” Gibbs said of his deal. “That’s the main thing. The mutual respect is really the thing that carried over. I know what I can make myself.”

“He’s sold a lot of records, man, so I gotta respect that. It’s a lot of respect. It’s deeper than some rap business. It’s an honor and respect thing. I chose to Fawk with them in the long haul. It ain’t like no one album deal with CTE.”

The CTE signee also spoke on this relationship with Atlanta rapper Pill.

Early this year, Pill, who frequently collaborated with Gibbs, joined Rick Ross’ Maybach Music Group, who has been quietly brewing a Hip-Hop beef with Gibbs’ new label head, Young Jeezy.

Gibbs comment on Pill and the situation saying, “I ain’t got no problem with him. Ain’t no tension with the situation. I don’t know. Right now I’m focused on the CD Shyte. Just doing what I gotta do.”

Gibbs new mixtape, Cold Day in Hell, is scheduled for release on his birthday, June 14th.

The mixtape is said to feature Jeezy, Bun B, Freeway, Juicy J, Big K.R.I.T. and Alley Boy.
