White House Responds To Derrion Albert Case; Sends Eric Holder To Chicago
The White House is sending Attorney General Eric Holder to Chicago in light of the beating death of Derrion Albert. The White House was relatively mum after the video showing the brutal beating of the 16-year-old boy hit the net. White House Press Secretary, Robert Gibbs, described the video as “chilling” and said:
"Though government cannot regulate what's in people's hearts, the White House believes such crimes call for community involvement.”
Now the Obama administration is taking a stand and sending Holder to the area where the incident took place. The Attorney General will meet with school officials, residents and students to talk about school violence. Holder arrives in Chicago Wednesday.
