Def Jam Records Sabotaging “Wu Massacre” Album?!?!

No relationship has been more disgruntled then the working relationship between Def Jam Records and members of the Wu Tang Clan.

The past few releases from Method Man and Ghostface Killah have seen the rappers stating their displeasure as the label had not provided them with the necessary means to promote their releases properly.

This, unfortunately, may be the exact same case for the next at bat, as Mef has stated that their upcoming project “Wu Massacre” is being rushed by the label and might not be exactly what anyone was expecting.

Speaking with MTV, Tical spoke the recording process with Def Jam breathing down their necks.

“Def Jam put a rush on it.  We didn't have a lot of time to work on it. We recorded with no budget. It is what it is. We did this for the fans. It felt good to get in the studio with Rae and Ghost. The future looks bright.”

It just goes to show what happens when Hip-Hop is placed into the hands of those that are unaware of a gem when it is placed right in front of their faces.

Still expected to drop March 30, the album has started to see leaks in the form of “Criminology 2.5” and “Youngstown Heist” featuring Sheek Louch, Trife Da God and Bully.

Adding that the album is only meant to continue the Wu legacy and could have been done by any other member, Mef hopes that there will be another opportunity to complete another project on their terms.

“This album could have been done by Deck, U-God and GZA. Either/or, it's still Wu-Tang. The bottom line with this LP, it was something fans always requested. It's like, what else was we doing? It was a given. Hopefully, we can all get back in the studio and get enough time to really work on an LP.”
