No I.D. Weighs In On Irv Gotti’s Bid For Def Jam Presidency

Def Jam Vice President No I.D. called in to WGCI’s The Morning Riot and was asked about Irv Gotti’s recent rant on MTV lobbying for the presidential position at Def Jam.

Irv said that someone should be brought in that can make a change and keep the brand alive even if it’s not him. No I.D. doesn’t feel like the comments were a shot at him and he’s focused on doing his job which includes producing Common’s new album.

While he commented that albums today are more like compilations with a bunch of artists and producers that never met each other, he also responded to Irv’s opinion when he was asked if he thought Gotti would be a good choice for the company.

“I can’t say. That’s what I mean by I won’t get into whether he can or cant, because who’s to say who can and can’t? it would be cool to have somebody in that position, but me, I’ma just stay in my position and do the best that I can do for music in general.”
