The man who was given George Zimmerman’s old phone number has become the victim of misguided public hatred. Junior Alexander Guy, received death threats, and harassing calls, ever since he was given the accused killer’s former number, two months ago.

Zimmerman placed a call to 911 on the night that he shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin and revealed his number as 407-435-2400. He later changed his number which was given to 49-year-old Guy on May 7. In less than two weeks Guy received a total of 70 calls including people saying “You deserve to die,” and “You murderer.”

Guy has since turned the T-Mobile phone over to a lawyer and is asking for financial compensation from the phone company.

Since shooting Martin in February, Zimmerman has been in and out of police custody. He was mostly recently ordered back to jail after Judge Kenneth Lester found that the 28-year-old and his wife lied about their financial status, during his bond hearing

Despite being placed back behind bars, Zimmerman has been granted another bond hearing, scheduled for June 29.
