Besides plenty of civilians fans, Lecrae has plenty of supports from his Hip-Hop peers. Artists like Kendrick Lamar, 9th Wonder and No Malice have all spoke graciously about the Christian rapper’s skills.
The co-signs were all good, but Lecrae isn’t looking for anyone’s “approval.” “I appreciate everybody’s respect and love,” Lecrae told Hip-Hop Wired. “Me sitting down and being able to have real relationships with a lot of the people that have said, ‘Yo, that’s my dude,’ means a lot more to me. These aren’t people who pushed play [and said], ‘Oh, that’s dope.’ These are people I’ve had conversations where we’ve sat down, we’ve chopped it up [and] we’ve vibed.”
Peep the rest of Lecrae interview, where he discusses looking forward to working even more with Church Clothes collaborators Street Symphony and 9th Wonder, below.
