A Philadelphia woman known as the “Black Madam” is facing murder charges for performing illegal butt injection procedures, one of which killed a woman from London, police announced Tuesday (July 24).
Padge Windslowe was arrested Monday (July 23) stemming from the death of 20-year-old, Claudia Aderotimi, in February of last year. Aderotimi, a student who worked as a dancer, thought that enhancing her backside would help her career, so she flew from overseas, and had the procedure done in a Philadelphia hotel. “She went to audition for one video shoot wearing fake booty pants and she got all the attention,” said talent scout, Tee Ali, who met Aderotimi during a video shoot.
An autopsy concluded that Aderotimi suffered from heart failure when the silicone injected in her butt, seeped into her blood stream.
Windslowe was arrested during a “pumping party” at a Philly residence, earlier in the year. Pending test results from the FDA to determine Aderotimi's cause of death, Windslowe was initially apprehended on assault charges stemming from a separate incident, where a customer was left with severe lung problems after silicone entered her bloodstream.
Butt injections are big business, fueled by the popularity of video models, reality stars, and even rappers (i.e., Nicki Minaj) putting their ample bottoms on display. In the case of Vanity Star, the model was so consumed with having a perfect butt that she got 1,000 injections. Luckily for Star, she did not suffer any injuries from having the substance pumped into her body, but a Southern California woman lost two limbs after a botched procedure.
