A Kenyan man who was caught performing a lewd act with a grazing female goat faced the animal in court in a bizarre trial last Friday. Katana Kitsao Gona was sentenced to 10 years in prison, as the abused goat looked on.
Kenyan publication The Star and United Kingdom’s Metro reported on the Gona bestiality case, which unfolded on November 25. Gona was caught after a local man who went to relive himself on a bush caught Gona naked and sexually abusing the goat, according to a report from Prosecuting chief inspector Jimmy Kimaru.
The owner, Serah Kadenge, was alerted and captured Gona with the help of others. Gona, who pleaded guilty to the offense, asked the court’s forgiveness after saying his wife is disabled and needs him to provide support. Malindi resident magistrate Muthiu Nzibe showed no mercy to Gona despite the plea.
Gona, 28, was slapped with a record sentence by the magistrate which shocked onlookers inside the courtroom. The goat had no comment, naturally.
