Fans who felt some kind of way over the thought of Nick Cannon playing Richard Pryor in a biopic can now rest easy.
Mike Epps has secured the role of the late, great comedian’s life.
Oprah Winfrey broke the announcement on her Twitter, as did Lee Daniels, who both have a key hand in producing the biopic. Oprah appeared to be ecstatic with his first table read, as was Daniels. Following the news, Epps thanked Richard’s widow, Jennifer Lee Pryor and his fans for the opportunity, assuring them that Winfrey and Daniels had made the right decision in their casting job.
Additionally, many of Epps’ comedic peers sent out their congratulations, including a self-admitted “peaceful mother******” in Kevin Hart. Anyone is familiar with these two comedian’s recent past can understand the significance of such a salute.
