A Baton Rouge Police Officer is under investigation after a string of racially offensive text messages he sent to another individual have went viral.
The WBRZ Investigative Unit has discovered that the yet-unnamed officer allegedly wrote a string of texts that read, “They are nothing but a bunch of monkeys. The only reason they have this job is the n*****, n***** in them.”
The texts continued in a downward spiral with, “I wish someone would pull a Ferguson on them and take them out. I hate looking at those African monkeys at work…I enjoy arresting those thugs with their saggy pants.”
This isn’t the first time a police officer has gotten themselves in trouble while referencing the hot button Ferguson issue. A Kansas City Police Officer shared a picture of an individual who he believed to be Mike Brown on his Facebook page in efforts to posthumously portray the slain teenager as a thug.
Louisiana State NAACP President Ernest Johnson and his Baton Rouge counterpart, Michael Mcclanahan are currently petitioning for the officer’s removal from the force. Johnson also duly noted that any recent arrests of Black men with baggy pants should be thoroughly investigated to ensure the justification of those apprehensions.
