Longtime Hip-Hop fans tend to be a nostalgic lot, but sometimes you just gotta let go. For example, there are a number of albums we have been expecting over the years—not including the mythical Detox (which has a new title)—that we should just give up on.

Whether it’s acting careers, outsized egos or creative malaise, fans have been left high and dry by these acts. That said, here are 10 albums raps fans should just stop waiting for. We can’t front, we’re still holding out hope for a bunch of these, though…

Madvillainy 2

We were fiending for a sequel to Madvillainy as soon as we realized its greatness. We wish Doom and Madlib were, too.

Unnamed Black Star album

Talib and Yasiin Bey, dropped Mos Def & Talib Kweli Are Black Star in ’98 and let loose a thumping single called “Fix Up” in 2011. Hope you haven’t been holding your breath.

Ghostface & Doom

Mr. All Caps would rather drop a collab album with teen MC Bishop Nehru than his almost done for a while new project with Ghostface. Go figure.
