Just because the annual Black Monday in the NFL has already passed, doesn’t mean all coaches are in the clear just yet.
The Denver Broncos shoddy play last Sunday against personal rival the Indianapolis Colts handed Peyton Manning his ninth “one-and-done” playoff exit of his career. In turn, the Broncos handed coach John Fox his walking papers.
“I had a productive visit with John Elway this afternoon in which we were both very honest about our time together and how to best move forward,” Fox said in a statement to ESPN following the announcement. “After this discussion, John and I mutually agreed that the timing was right for this decision.”
Broncos insider Vic Lombardi had plenty of information on Fox’s exit as well.
