Just as quickly as news broke of the alleged shooting at Lil Wayne’s Miami mansion, the incident was revealed to be a hoax.
If you’re unaware, the Young Money founder’s home was supposedly the scene of a violent encounter, during which four were thought to be shot. Local authorities were alerted via a non-emergency line, and in turn visited the rapper’s property, only to find no signs of a shooting.
Wayne’s manager Cortez Bryant issued a statement to XXL. “Wayne was never home, he was in the studio working. It was a prank call to the police on the 911 line that alerted them to go to the property. I allowed them access in and they found the house empty. All is good.”
Wayne described the incident in three words: “Prank kall mane.”
