Orange Is The New Black star Dascha Polanco seems to be really ’bout that life. Back in July, she was arrested for allegedly punching and scratching a 17-year-old and in court today (Dec. 3) at Manhattan Criminal Court to face her charges.

Dascha Polanco, 33, plays Dayanara Diaz on the popular series, an inmate at Litchfield Penitentiary who carries on a torrid affair with a guard. On the show, she’s serving a prison stint for drugs.
In real life, Polanco was arrested July 29 after she allegedly attacked 17-year-old Michelle Cardona, according to the criminal complaint.
“Ms. Cardona observed the defendant strike Ms. Cardona about the face and head with a closed fist at least three times, pull Ms. Cardona’s hair, and strike Ms. Cardona’s arms with the defendant’s hands and nails,” court papers show.
It’s unclear what led to the alleged beatdown inside 562 W. 190th St., where Polanco lives, according to law enforcement sources.
The details of the beatdown are rather sketchy.
The authorities claim Polanco invited the victim to the apartment where she caught the fade.
Polanco’s lawyer claims it’s all a set up to get some money out of Polanco, who is due back in court in January.
