The coveted and cherished Nike Air Yeezy II is about to become a little more desirable for the most passionate sneaker enthusiasts.
Kanye West autographed a pair of his signature Yeezy IIs, that he’s worn, for RE/CREATE, a new charitable platform designed to encourage and assist prominent personalities with aiding relief efforts to auction away. The shoes will be auctioned off and the proceeds will help New York Cares rebuild areas devastated by Superstorm Sandy last October.
The Air Yeezy II launched last June to rapid demand with a $245 box price before reaching values as high as $3,000 in the resale market. But none of those pairs were personally autographed by the polarizing producer. If the enthusiasm for the Yeezy II remains consistent, the RE/CREATE auction could generate a sizable donation to help those most affected by Sandy. Previously, Yeezy performed at the 12.12.12 Concert for Sandy Relief this past November.
Customers can compete against one another to secure their autographed Yeezy II on RE/CREATE New York when the auction launches on Jan. 24 at 10 p.m. EST. Just make sure you’re a size 10.5 if you intend to actually wear them.
Other items up for grabs from RE/CREATE are Anne Hathaway’s autographed Miu Miu dress, a Marc Jacobs-signed bag, a WeSC jacket autographed by Skrillex and much more.
