Didn’t the ball just drop to ring in 2013 yesterday? Well, if you blinked the year is about to be 25% finished. Time flies.
Even if it hasn’t seemed like a long time, two months is an eternity in today’s Hip-Hop. Where new music drops literally every single day, it may be hard for you to keep up with what you should be listening to and what should hit the cutting room floor. That’s what we are here for.
With the Winter just about to wrap up, HipHopWired doesn’t think its to early to take a look back at some of the best songs that have dropped in 2013. Are we getting ahead of ourselves? Possibly. However, with the amount of music that flies in and out of our ears every 24 hours, there was more than enough quality tunes to choose from.
Hit the jump to check out this week’s Wired 25, the 25 best songs of 2013 so far.
[P.S. if your song had the word “Molly” in the title you were disqualified. Tough luck.]

25. Jared Evan ft. Joey Bada$$ – “Black & White”
Rapper turned singer, Jared Evan taps Joey Bada$$ for this smooth track produced by Statik Selektah.
24. Ab-Soul ft. JMSN – “You’re Gone”
The first offering from Soul-O and JMSN’s collaborative project, Unit 9.
23. Lil Wayne ft. 2 Chainz – “Rich As F**k”
This leak off of Weezy’s I Am Not A Human Being 2 is a low quality rip but a high quality track. The CDQ will do damage in 2013.
22. Troy AVe ft. BSB – “Symphony”
One of New York’s brightest young stars, Troy Ave, grabs up his BSB and some slick Pete Rock production for “Symphony.”
21. DJ Scream ft. Wale, Future & Ludacris – “Cee-Lo”
DJ Scream’s Long Live The Hustle is on the way with this riot-starting single.
20. Wale ft. Tiara Thomas- “Bad”
The standout track from Wale’s mixtape, Folarin is an honest look at love. Look for this track to land on his third album Nothing
19. Lil Reese ft. Young Jeezy & Twista – “Traffic (Remix)”
The Chi-Town teenager isn’t for the talking, he’s about that action. Jeezy and Twista add some OG talk to this city favorite.
18. Rick Ross – “Box Chevy”
Although he’s got a penchant for Maybachs and Rolls Royces now, Rozay reminds you that he started in a Box Chevy.
17. N.O.R.E. (aka P.A.P.I.) ft. 2 Chainz, French Montana and Pusha T – “Tadow”
This catchy tune from P.A.P.I. (still doesn’t sound right) is gaining steam in New York City.
16. Ty Dolla $ign ft. Young Jeezy – “My Cabana (Remix)”
Ty Dolla’s Beach House project may have flew under your radar but the remix to “My Cabana” couldn’t be ignored.
15. Big K.R.I.T. ft. Bun B – “Shine On”
The country cousins get a little flossy on “Shine On.”
14. Tyler, The Creator – “Domo 23”
The OFWGKTA nutcase goes double-time in this high energy single for WOLF
13. Joe Budden ft. Lil Wayne, Tank and Fabolous – “She Don’t Put It Down”
Joey’s been an underground favorite for years, but this single coupled wit his star turn on Love And Hip-Hop, Budden got himself a hit single.
12. will.i.am. ft. Britney Spears, Hit Boy, Waka Flocka Flame, Lil Wayne & Diddy – “Scream And Shout (Remix)”
Britney Spears on a Hip-Hop list? Damn right. “Scream And Shout” has turned up clubs worldwide and the remix only broadened the audience.
11. French Montana ft. Nicki Minaj – “Freaks”
Who cares if French Montana has yet to stand on his own a hit single? As long as he continues to churn out jams like this, we’ll excuse his French.
10. Young Jeezy ft. 2 Chainz – “R.I.P.”
This DJ Mustard-produced club rocker has a West Coast feel but boasts two of the biggest rappers in Atlanta.
9. A$AP Rocky ft. Kendrick Lamar, Yelawolf, Danny Brown, Joey Bada$$, Action Bronson & Big K.R.I.T. – “1 Train”
Since this was a 2013 release, and we are all law-abiding citizens who purchase music legally, this counts. “1 Train” is a posse cut that stands out in an era of posse cuts.
8. B.O.B. ft. Juicy J and T.I. – “We Still In This B***h”
Bobby Ray brought you “Airplanes” and “Strange Clouds,” but “We Still In This B***h,” shows that he can turn up with the best of them.
7. J. Cole ft. Miguel – “Power Trip”
J. Cole swung and missed with “Miss America,” but “Power Trip” has potential to stick to your ribs.
6. Young Scooter – “Colombia”
Future’s next artist out of the FBG has many people having dope boy daydreams. Get served.
5. Future ft. Casino – “Karate Chop”
If you’ve been in a party when this song comes on, not much description is needed here. Future turns the club sideways with “Chop.”
4. Ace Hood ft. Future & Rick Ross – “Bugatti”
Still perplexed how Ace Hood has four studio albums? He’s always good for a surefire smash per album and “Bugatti” is it. Watch out for the Haitians.
3. Lil Wayne ft. Future & Drake – “Love Me”
There’s a common denominator in all of the top songs of the year so far. Future is the go-to hook man of the moment and he hasn’t missed since.
2. Justin Timberlake ft. Jay-z – “Suit & Tie”
JT’s smooth single produced by Timbaland shot him back to the top of the charts with help from the God MC.
1. Drake – “Started From The Bottom”
The song that sparked a thousand remixes reminds the entire world that we all start from somewhere.
