There is no boot the resonates with legitimate outdoorsmen and Hip-Hop heads like the Timberland boot. In celebration of its 40th anniversary, Timberland is dropping the 40th LTD collection that will feature the classic 6″ yellow boot, the World Hiker and the Super Boot aka the “40 Below.”
The souped up version of the three aforementioned models will be super limited with only 1,973 pairs of each version to be created. Each will be individually numbered on the inside of the tongue . Only one style will be released per month at select retailers–David Z (NY), Atrium/Kith (Brooklyn, NY), Villa (Philly and Detroit), Major (DC), Dope (LA), Jimmy Jazz (NY), and DTLR (Baltimore/DC), more stores here—beginning with the Super 6″ on September 25, 2013. The World Hiker will drop in late October followed by the Super Boot in late November.
Timberland also partneted with the Rig Outto create a film celebrating their milestone and heritage called ‘Into the Trees,’ which you can watch below.

If you have plenty of money in your pocket and like donating to worthy causes, starting September 25 Timberland will be auctioning off pairs #1 and #1973 of each style with the proceeds going to support the Rainforest Alliance’s Sustainable Tourism program.

Under its real name, the Super Boot was released in 1979 at 10 inches high. It was made of Krymp leather, the toughest you could find. Over a few years, the Super Boot generated a cult following. SRP: $260, Available in brown, and black.
Timberland partnered with Italian designer Montebelluna to create the World Hiker in 1994, combining 30 years of research into a beautiful boot . Instead of the Timberland tree logo, it featured a design representing what the boot could withstand: Wind, Water, Earth and Sky. SRP: $250
This “souped-up” version of the Classic 6” features a sleek white collar, solid brass eyelets, Gore-Tex lining, Vibram outsole and 400 grams of PrimaLoft® insulation for warmth. SRP: $220
