From emerging onto the scene in the 1990’s on to becoming one of the most successful female groups in history, to bankruptcy and the untimely death of Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes, most are already familiar with the major plot twists to the TLC legacy. But, according to Chili and T-Boz, their story has yet to be really told.

After many years of talk and speculation about a film depicting the rise and fall the group, CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story is finally set to premier on VH1. In preparation for the release of the biopic, Chili and T-Boz stopped by Power 105.1′ The Breakfast Club to discuss how the movie came about, the behind the scenes dealings that will now be shared with the public, internal beefs, their relationship with Left Eye and more.

Perri “Pebbles” Reid, who was responsible for putting together the group, might be suing TLC for defamation based on how she was portrayed in the film.

T-Boz and Chili allege that Left Eye’s boyfriend was in her ear influencing her to go solo hence the individual album sales challenge that made the internal beef go public.

Chili was once kicked out the group; thankfully the problems were worked out.

At their peak, T-Boz was suffering from her sickle cell anemia. She alleges Pebbles forced her to perform at an awards performance even if she had to be carried in a stretcher. Ouch.

The paperwork that the group originally signed was so crooked they are not legally allowed to perform some of their own songs live.

Left Eye actually invited Chili and T-Boz to her spiritual trip to Honduras but they both passed due to lack of electricity and communications in the country.

While still in the group, Chili was dating record producer Dallas Austin. She ended up getting pregnant but felt she lacked the support to raise the child. She ended up getting an abortion shortly after.

Surprisingly Chili had the idea of a film based on the group during their Ooooooohhh… On the TLC Tip days but thought the timing wasn’t correct.
