Despite having a hell of a year that boasts production credits on Robin Thicke’s “Blurred Lines,” Daft Punk’s “Get Lucky,” and more, Pharrell‘s sonic magic didn’t translate through his Azealia Banks collaboration, “ATM Jam.” However, the highly opinionated rapper has a theory for why her Broke With Expensive Taste single didn’t live up to hit status.
“The reason ATM jam did poorly is because pharell changed his mind about wanting to be associated with me after he had his lite skin comeback,” Banks tweeted. But that wasn’t all. The Harlem native went on to explain that there’s always been a push and pull situation in her career.
“But f**k it what’s new? Azealia banks having to scrape claw and fight for what she wants. This is normal for me now.” she said.
Banks announced that “ATM Jam” has been removed from Broke With Expensive Taste, due out early next year. See the MC’s full Twitter rant on the following page.
