“I’m up here to celebrate the life of a young man whose path I crossed a little over a year ago,” the Grand Hustle CEO began. “I admired Doe because he always presented himself to be mature. It’s very rare that you can find someone at the age of 20/21 at sit them with someone that you know, ‘aspired’ to be like and stay composed and poised and feel like they had the same potential that they were on the level as that person.”
The 22-year-old rapper was shot and killed on December 28 after leaving a nightclub in his hometown of Montgomery, Ala. Two men, Jason McWilliams and Darius Thomas have since been arrested and charged with capital murder.
It should be noted that the second victim of the shooting, Kimberle Johnson, had her funeral services earlier in the morning at the same church.
Watch the touching clip of T.I. eulogizing his fallen comrade and hope that his words reaches the ears of someone looking to act on the next potential fatal spur of the moment.
