DMX
Dark Man X dissed Ruff Ryder label mates, The LOX, on “Trina Moe” from his 2001 album The Great Depression. “I ain’t even gon’ speak, one million the first week/ Aight, let’s ask the streets, how many sold?/ What? Three ni**as, three months to go gold?,” he rapped. Needless to say that LOX member Jadakiss clapped back on Fat Joe’s “My Lifestyle (Remix).”
DMX, Again
The Yonkers native made a career out of kicking truthful testimony, so fans expected no different when he dissed Def Jam label mate Young Jeezy on BET’s 106 & Park back in 2005. Though calling the Atlanta rapper “Young Cheesy” did nothing to deter his popular, the comment made headlines.
Above is a video of DMX saying he isn’t a fan of Jeezy and a list of other rappers during a 2012 interview with MTV2.
Consequence
Cons famously went at KiD CuDi in the YouTube video above, after his G.O.O.D. Music label mate allegedly gave him the cold shoulder at Q-Tip’s party back in 2008. Cudder later told Complex that he was inebriated out of his mind. “He took it like I gave him a dry ‘what up’ at the Q-Tip party, like I was trying to play him,” he explained. “But I was just completely obliterated out of my skull. And what I found strange was that I spotted him and made my way through the crowd to see him so I don’t see where the confusion would’ve come from.”
2Pac Shakur
Tupac wasn’t on the best of terms with his Death Row partner in rhyme Snoop Dogg when he passed. Snoop claims it was because he didn’t truly support his beef with The Notorious B.I.G. and Puff Daddy.
Slim The Mobster
Former Aftermath artist Slim The Mobster had done much of the writing on his mythical Detox album at one point. But the gloves came off when he separated ties from the label. He and 50 Cent infamously waged full-fledged Twitter beefs.
LL Cool J
Jay Z lost some friends during his tenure as President of Def Jam Records. One of whom was LL Cool J, who accused the Brooklyn MC of not giving artists a proper push. “I think Def Jam needs to be a better promoter of hip-hop,” said the rapper, according to New York Daily News. “I think Jay-Z does a very good job … of promoting Jay-Z.”
Mobb Deep
One half of Mobb Deep, Havoc, shocked fans when he accused his partner Prodigy of sleeping with men in jail during a Twitter rant. The Queensbridge rapper claimed that his phone was hacked and that the malicious tweets weren’t sent by him. Fortunately, the situation has been resolved.
Rick Ross/Jeezy
Ricky Rozay and The Snowman are making records these days, but there was a slim chance of that happening a few years ago. Beef between the southern rappers came to a head at the 2012 BET Hip-Hop Awards, where they nearly came to blows. We’re sure Def Jam were ecstatic.
The Game
The Game doesn’t do well with break-ups. Proof can be heard in his “300 Bars And Runnin'” track, which was dedicated to his former clique G-Unit.
Meek Mill
Days before Meek was incarcerated, he went on a Twitter tirade about how Wale wasn’t truly a part of MMG. Luckily, the Washington D.C. rapper handled the situation with grace.
