If you’re among the populus who feels Orange Is the New Black needs more scenes with physical contact (especially of the skin-revealing variety), then allow Ruby Rose to pique your interest.
The MTV VJ by way of Australia has just been cast in the season 3 of the popular Netflix show–with an interesting plot twist.
She will play the lesbian love interest of both Taylor Schilling’s “Piper Chapman” and Laura Prepon’s “Alex Vause”
The Daily Mail by way of Elle magazine has learned that Rose was waiting on the announcement and she has just been confirmed today, January 6.
“Grab yourself a copy of U.S ELLE MAGAZINE and read about my new role on a small unheard of series called Orange Is The New Black,” she joked on Facebook. “Haha I am very excited and honored to be named one of the Magazine’s fresh faces on TV to watch in 2015.”‘
She also hashtagged ‘#stellaishere, which could be a direct reference to the character she’s playing.
Although her name isn’t too common amongst American audiences, Ruby Rose has been a pillar in Australia’s gay community for years and most Aussie publications are calling the prison casting job her “big break.”
