Nike will celebrate the upcoming Chinese New Year by releasing a special edition Nike Air Foamposite One coined “Tianjin.”
Named after the city of Tianjin, the intricately designed kicks are inspired by Chinese culture. Such can be seen in a dominant lotus flower motif on the upper and tongue.
Like most big Nike releases, the beauty of this sneaker lies in the subtle details. An example being a message (“Prosperity Through the Years”) inscribed in Chinese on the back of the shoe and on the insole.
Nike retailers in China will carry the Air Foamposite One “Tianjin” on Friday, February 7. Sneaker News reports that a U.S. release should come later in the month.
