Zack Snyder has been making some strong moves in casting his upcoming Superman V Batman: Dawn Of Justice film. Jesse Eisenberg, who will play Lex Luthor, might have baffled fans, but this first look at the character might shift some perceptions.
Snyder’s highly anticipated film doesn’t drop until 2016, but already much has been speculated, revealed and discussed regarding the Warner Bros. and DC Comics collaboration. Ben Affleck will star as the DC Comics cinematic universe’s Batman aka Bruce Wayne, will Henry Cavill returns in his role as Superman aka Clark Kent. In various forms of social media, photos of other heroes such as Aquaman and Wonder Woman have been seen. Eisenberg’s Luthor is the latest to show.
Entertainment Weekly reported on the release of the photo taken by set photographer Clay Enos, who also posted earlier today (Mar. 25) the pic on his Instagram account. In the black and white photo, Eiseberg’s brooding Luthor looks serious and is bald as expected. Although fans probably couldn’t fathom Eisenberg in the sinister super-villain role, he is one of Hollywood’s better actors after his star turn in The Social Network along with other films.
Like many of his other casting choices, Snyder backs his actors and says that fans are in for a surprise with Eisenberg’s Luthor. Too bad we’ll all have to wait until March 25, 2016 to actually decide for ourselves.
