The New York Knickerbockers haven’t disgraced a NBA court since April 15 but they still had a notable role in this year’s Eastern Conference Finals. On January 5, the struggling organization shipped off J.R. Smith and Iman Shumpert to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who both proved to be the ex-factor for the team, especially with the wobbly health of the likes of Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving.
Last night, LeBron James & Co. made lightwork of the Atlanta Hawks; sweeping them to earn their first NBA Finals appearance since 2007 and accomplishing a perfect round where the favored Golden State Warriors could not. Instead of strengthening facts like these, the sports world focused their energy on creating Carmelo Anthony memes to remind him that his decision to cash in underneath the bright lights of Madison Square Garden result in a big bank account and 17-65 record.
