Dancehall artist J Capri died at a hospital in Jamaica early Friday, from injuries sustained in a car accident late last month. She was 23.
Capri never awoke from a medically induced coma, reports Urban Islandz. “She will be sadly missed, she had a promising future and a lot to contribute to Jamaican music,” her rep said.
Born Jordan Phillips, Capri, had been hospitalized in critical condition after she crashed her Mercedes Nov. 22. Good Samaritans reportedly had to be pulled her from the wreckage.
Capri sustained a head concussion, broken bones, and lost a lot of blood in the accident. Fans were encouraged to donate blood and continue prayers for Capri, though a dancehall artist says he was turned away from donating because he got a tattoo within the last year. The Concussion Records singer/songwriter would’ve turned 24 on on the 24th of this month. Hit the flip for condolences, and more. — Photo: Instagram
