Critically acclaimed and hood approved web series Money & Violence is finally back for a second season. The cast stopped by The Breakfast Club to give some much needed updates.

After impacting popular culture with a gritty take on Brooklyn street life, Money & Violence was on everyone’s must watch list in early 2015. It is no shocker that they drew interest from larger business entities.

Fast forward almost a year and season 2 is not disappointing one bit. DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlemagne Tha God got the guys to discuss their new episodes, a eventual transition to television, bigger budgets and more.

1. Season 2

With their partnership with Tidal, the first episode of season 2 got 1.6 million views when it premiered.

2. Work

Even though they have more help with the addition of a production team, the work load for the guys increased. This means more cameras, more microphones…thus more editing and finding the best angles.

3. Writing

Only three quarters of the season has been written. Part of the appeal of the series is that they are able to stay relevant by writing as they go along.

4. Money

Even though the crew has new partners, they are not rolling in the dough. Most of the money earned was put back into the show.

5. Access

Now that the web series is popular they are no longer allowed to shoot guerrilla style. On the flip side they have access to different locations, including banks and hospitals now that they are in the habit of requesting permits.

6. Celebrity

The buzz started on the show around the third or fourth episode of the first season. Surprisingly Michael Rapaport sent them a message via Twitter and they knew they had something special.
