Chicago keeps creating it. It’s latest artist to generate some buzz on the streets come by way of 22-year-old female rapper/singer Dreezy.
After securing Gucci Mane on her hit single “We Gon’ Ride,” and paying tribute to Salt-N-Pepa at VH1’s Hip Hop Honors, the Chiraq artist has been creating some well deserved buzz and anticipation for her upcoming debut album, No Hard Feelings.
Today Dreezy stopped by The Breakfast Club to chop it up with Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy to talk about how getting grounded as a teenager led to her career, feeling like she doesn’t come off as a female, and how she’s going to go about shaking off her good girl way of life.

1. Gucci Mane
She hadn’t met Gucci Mane, but her peoples were able to get Gucci Mane her “We Gon Ride” track and he liked it so much he jumped right on it. Once she got him on the record she was “lit all week.”

2. From The Ground Up
Her father grounded her for three months for stealing some clothes for a boy which led her to completing her mixtape. Who said tough love didn’t work?

3. The Teacher
She was writing poetry before she started singing. It wasn’t until one of her teachers took her under her musical wing that Dreezy began vocalizing.

Common was the first big name artist to put her on. After that there were a few labels trying to sign her.

5. Not Feeling Female
Like many women nowadays she admits she was never the type to get along with females so she feels she doesn’t come off as a female. Most men would disagree.

6. Almost A Statistic
Dreezy almost became an innocent bystander when a car close to where she and her friend were sitting got shot up with 10 rounds.

7. Exes and O’s
Her ex-boyfriends served as inspiration for her past mixtapes and now that she’s blowing up let her know they still love her. She replies with, “I still love you too… kid.” Applaud this woman.

8. Good Girl Gon Bad?
Even though she said she’s done being a good girl she insists that doesn’t mean she’s going to be a hoe, she’s just going to do what she wants. She names Rihanna as someone she looks up to in that regard. Let us pray.
