Ludacris has done what most rappers want out of their career and went from one of the biggest names in Hip-Hop to one of the most recognizable stars in Hollywood. Namely one of it’s biggest franchises, The Fast & The Furious.
Currently the host of MTV’s Fear Factor, Ludacris seems like he’s over his rap career entirely but according to him is actually only taking a break.
Today the ATLien dropped by The Breakfast Club to talk about making the transition from rap to Tinsle Town and spoke about why he didn’t agree with Tyrese calling out The Rock on social media, throwing his hat in the ring for next year’s Super Bowl Halftime show, and possibly being responsible for Kanye West getting into that near fatal car crash in 2002.
Here are the 9 things we learned from Ludacris on The Breakfast Club.
1. Fast & Furious Spinoff
Ludacris says Tyrese was fronting when he said that he and Ludacris got offered their own Fast & Furious spinoff. He says that they were talking about the possibility of it but never got an official offer from the movie studio.
2. Tyrese Beef
Luda feels that the way Tyrese handled his feelings towards The Rock getting his own FF spinoff movie wasn’t the way to go about things. His biggest fear about Tyrese going off on The Rock the way he did was that it could scare other people from wanting to work with Tyrese on future projects due to Black Ty appearing emotionally unstable.
3. Jeff Ross
Talking about Jeff Ross, Luda says he hasn’t wanted to talk to the comedian because he tried to justify his tasteless jokes he about Paul Walker instead of apologizing for making them. He’s happy to know that Ross has expressed regret for making those comments.
4. Super Bowl
Ludacris is hoping he’ll get the nod to be a part of the Super Bowl halftime show next year in Atlanta and promises not to do anything “ludicrous.” Ultimately he hopes someone like Usher, Jermaine Dupri or OutKast gets offered the gig.
5. La La Anthony
When asked about La La Anthony’s admission that she had an erotic dream about him, Luda says that she’s his sister and doesn’t read too much into things like that.
6. Business Man
Aside from the movies and music, Ludacris is quite a business man but doesn’t like bragging about his investments. He even owns an airplane that his uncle flies which he rents out to other celebrities. Is he breaking Biggie’s 7th Crack Commandment or nah?
7. Management
Even though he’s had the same management team for two decades, Ludacris says he’s never had a written contract with his managers. “We brothers first.” That’s impressive and admirable.
8. Kanye
Luda says he didn’t know he was with Kanye the night that Ye got into that car crash that led to “Through The Wire.” He also says he doesn’t remember being mad at Ya for rapping for more than an hour but does remember being impressed with the then young Chicago rapper.
9. The Oscar Goes To…
One of the things left on Ludacris’s bucket list is to walk away with an Academy Award. He’s also prepared for wait 40-years for that honor.
