More States Ban Abortions After 20th Week
Five more states just passed a law banning abortions after the 20th week of pregnancy.
Alabama, Oklahoma, Kansas, Idaho and Indiana have all jumped on board making it illegal to abort a child after the fifth month of pregnancy in these states. At that point, many theorist say, the fetus can feel pain.
The prior limitation set by the Supreme Court was 24-weeks.
Nebraska passed the first 20-week limit last year.
There are 1.2 million abortions conducted in the United States every year.
