Kanye West will make his return to the MTV Video Music Awards August 25 to a perform Yeezus standout, “Black Skinhead,” at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
Off all of the rappers that could have remixed a Yeezus track, who’d have thought it’d be Consequence? The Queens lyricist drops some bars over one of his former brother in rhyme’s standout tracks “Black Skinhead.”
So, do you remember the visual for “Black Skinhead” that Kanye West said unofficially leaked a few weeks ago? Well, the G.O.O.D. Music founder returns with a final version that looks nearly identical to what we previously saw. And this follows his previous Twitter rant on the matter.
Yesterday, the Internets received the first proper visual from Yeezus with “Black Skinhead” –or so we thought. Less than 24 hours later, Kanye West returned to Twitter with claims that what the public saw was an unfortunate leak.
Now that “Black Skinhead” has been deemed the first official single from Yeezus, Kanye West returns with its highly anticipated accompanying visual. Spoiler alert: it’s, um, very interesting to say the least.
Yeezus was an album marked by ambiguity and unprecedented promotional tactics. With the LP currently in stores, this all changes — perhaps as a result of a less than Kanye West-like performance on the charts — with reports from Billboard’s The Juice saying “Black Skinhead” will be the project’s official single.
Despite your thoughts on Yeezus and whether the music measured up to the narrative surrounding the project, Kanye West has already begun baring the fruits of his most recent labor. Paramount just released an official trailer for a new film called The Wolf Of Wall Street that finds the G.O.O.D. Music mastermind in good company.
As billed, Kanye West hit the stage on the season finale of Saturday Night Live. The first song he performed is reportedly called “Black Skinhead,” which he followed up with “New Slaves.”
