If you were fiending for a pair of Nike Air Yeezy 2s in the “Red October” colorway and you weren’t near Twitter on Sunday (February 9), you were sh*t out of luck. The Swoosh brand dropped the ridiculously hyped shoe out of the blue, and it sold out in about 11 minutes.
All those seeking a pair of Kanye West’s Nike Air Yeezy 2 in the “Red October” colorway got hit with a mean pump fake. The release of Yeezy’s signature has been cancelled.
It pays to have friends in high places. Just ask Atlanta radio personality and renowned sneaker connoisseur, DJ Greg Street, who got Kanye West to sign each of his signature sneakers after he interviewed with V-103.
Kanye West has been in a talkative mood lately. The Yeezus tour hit Madison Square Garden this weekend and Yeezy took 10 minutes to expound on topics including Nike fronting on his Air Yeezy 2 and his fall out with designer Hedi Slimane (creative director of Saint Laurent).
There still is no firm release date for the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Red October.” However, if you happen to be “friends and family” with Kanye West, you should get your pair of the rapper’s signature sneaker soon enough.
Being Kanye West’s baby mama does have it benefits. Kim Kardashian stunted on sneakerheads everywhere this morning when she posted a pic of the highly coveted all-red Nike Air Yeezy 2s.
Kanye West’s highly anticipated new album, Yeezus, is dropping June 18. However, it seems like the G.O.O.D. Music rapper/producer still may be tinkering with the final product.
