The son of Wisconsin Republican Senatorial candidate, Tommy Thompson may have thrown a wrench in his father's campaign over distasteful comments about President Obama, but now he's apologizing.
According to Thompson's campaign, Jason Thompson, apologizes for quipping that this year's election is an opportunity to permanently remove Obama from Washington D.C. "We have the opportunity to send President Obama back to Chicago — or Kenya," Jason was recorded saying.
As is the case with many in the political public eye who have thwarted off potential bad press for making comments about the running joke that the President is not American, Jason's repented for his words only after they hit the news circuit. "The governor has addressed this with his son, just like any father would do," said the campaign in a statement."Jason Thompson said something he should not have, and he apologizes."
The remarks were recorded during an event hosted by Wisconsin's Kenosha County Republican Party. The crowd responded to the words with laughter and cheers, while woman woman even added that she'd be willing to "take donations" to send Obama back to the East African country.
Obama's citizenship has been called into question on numerous occasions, with some, like Donald Trump, going to ridiculous lengths to prove the theory.
So, just in case you still don't get it, President Obama was born in America. Also, he's not Muslim.
