For his Saturday Night Live debut, R&B/Soul crooner Frank Ocean enlisted the help of John Mayer and his guitar. Sporting his trademark flag bandana—and flanked by his band, Mayer and vintage arcade video games— first up was a performance of “Thinkin Bout You” and later on a rendition of “Pyramids.” The latter was a shorter version but still very much on point.
If you were somehow thinking Ocean was just a studio singer, watching these performances should make you realize how talented this guy really is. The Odd Future singer’s critically acclaimed debut, channel ORANGE, is in stores now (Mayer appears on the album cut “White”).
