Well, it looks like the police finally… [SPOILERS AHEAD]
…have Luke Cage in custody.
After Willis Stryker further sullied Luke Cage’s good name by implicating him in the murder of Damon “Diet Obama” Boone, Luke had no choice but to let Judas bullet packing police take him in without a fight.
Though all of the hostages of the Harlem’s Paradise siege, including Misty Knight, are saying that Luke Cage is innocent, Inspector Ridley and her team are hearing none of it and want to question Luke Cage themselves.
In the meantime, Shades has been taken into custody himself and Diamondback’s in the wind having relocated himself and his operation to another part of town.
Will the cops give Luke a chance to tell his side of the story? Does Luke even plan on making it all the way to the station?
Here’s a quick recap of Marvel’s Luke Cage, Episode 12: Soliloquy Of Chaos
Runnin’
While in the back of an armored police truck, Luke Cage waits for just the right moment to break out and lead a squad of Judas packing po-po on a foot chase. One cop had Luke dead to rights in an alley but decided to let him go knowing that Luke was innocent and just wanted to make things right. We can’t help but think a white cop would’ve let off 3 warning shots into Luke’s frame but that’s neither here nor there.
Bodega Bam
Even though he’s trying to maintain a low profile, Luke can’t help but stop an armed robbery in progress at a bodega. Turns out one of the people being held up is Tical himself, Method Man. After laying out the amateur stick-up kids, Luke and Meth exchange pleasantries and eventually their hoodies.
Dime Droppa
Harlem’s Paradise hostess, Candance reached out to detective Misty Knight and confessed the truth about her role in setting up Luke. Misty recorded the confession on her phone and blessed Candy with a new phone so she can keep tabs on her. Unfortunately, Mariah’s assistant, Alex, is also keeping tabs on Candy and sees the entire situation play out. Speaking of loyal assistants willing to go the extra mile to please their boss, whatever happened to Farnsworth Bentley?!
All For One
As a sign of solidarity with Luke Cage, heads are walking around Harlem in hoodies with holes in them. If you pay attention you’ll notice it was mostly older heads that were walking around with holey hoodies. You know them young bucks wasn’t going out like that. If Russell Westbrook ain’t rocking it then it ain’t poppin’.
Execution Of A Chump
After springing Shades from jail at the tune of a $2 million bond, Zip tried to off Shades with a good ol’ garrote strangling. Shades fought like his life depended on it – well, it did – and was able to get the upper hand and killed off Zip and two of Stryker’s other henchmen. Talk about disposable cash.
Loyalty
Stryker pays Mariah Dillard a visit and gives her a man bag filled with “seed money” for the refurbishing of Harlem’s Paradise. All he wants in return is her loyalty. If not he makes it clear to her that she might end up like Shades who he thinks is as dead as Horrorcore.
Time 4 Sum Aksion
Domingo’s been plotting on taking down Diamondback, and after his people put the battery in his back, he and his crew of “bad hombres” went to Diamondback’s hideout and tried to off him and his crew. It was as epic a fail as Yeezy’s season 4 fashion show. Bodies were laid out everywhere, b.
Enemy Of My Enemy Is My Friend
Shades pays Mariah a visit and hatches a plan to get Luke Cage on their side to take out Diamondback. It all has to do with a private email server Luke used. We kid we kid.
The Massacre
After putting the squeeze on Turk for information, Luke Cage finds Diamondback’s warehouse and stumbles onto the slaughter left behind and it’s lone survivor, Selena’s little brother. After discovering that a bomb is about to go off, Luke grabs little Abie Quntanilla and hightails it out of there. With his last breath Domingo warns Luke “even you can’t stop him” when describing Stryker’s new weapon. Anyone else feel like this could’ve been the same warehouse where Bruce Leroy found “the glow”?
It’s On
Before entering Pop’s barbershop to look for Luke, Shades admits to Mariah that the night she killed Cottonmouth, he was going to kill the man himself but she beat him to it. Once in there Shades and Mariah try to call a truce with Luke by offering him his life back in the form of evidence that Willis Styker set up Carl Lucas for murder. Misty Knight crashes the party before Luke could make a decision. During the commotion a Cobra Commander looking Diamondback blows up the spot with a grand entrance and looks ready to shoot the fair one with his “Miracle Baby” brother.
