The reconstructed World Trade Center building has a dirty little secret hidden inside its walls: racist graffiti. According to the New York Daily News, the walls of 1 World Trade Center are littered with racial slurs.
Among them include the words “Whites Only” plastered in the bathroom of the building standing 104 stories. As it turns out, whoever is responsible for spreading the hate makes no distinction in who is targeted. President Obama, who signed a steel beam at the site during a visit last June, was verbally attacked, as were Jews, Middle Eastern people, the Irish, and women.
The commander in chief’s original message read “Obama was here,” and was changed to “Obama was sh-t.”
There’s also talk of performing oral pleasure alongside the comment “Women don’t belong in construction.”
An insider claims that the graffiti has been brought to the attention of officials with, Tishman Construction Corp., the company behind the re-building of what used to be two World Trade Center buildings. “They might come and paint the wall and a week later it’s covered in graffiti again,” revealed the source.
Previously known as the Freedom Tower, the project comes with a $3.8 billion price tag, and was formally unveiled in 2005.
