A 1-year girl was found inside the vehicle Carey used to ram the White House security barricade. Several sources say the girl was Carey’s daughter.
NBC News reported that Carey’s family said she suffered from postpartum depression. Her former boss, dentist Dr. Barry Weiss observed that Carey was stressed over an unplanned pregnancy although a fellow doctor explained Carey was “happy” to be a mother.
Dr. Weiss terminated Carey’s employment after complaints she was too rough with the patients.
Dr. Steven Oken, a former employer, said to ABC News, “I would never in a million years believe that she would do something like this. It’s the furthest thing from anything I would think she would do, especially with her child in the car. I am floored that it would be her.”
After attending Hostos Community College in The Bronx, Carey later attended Brooklyn College and graduated in 2007 with a degree in Health and Nutrition.
Carey struck two officers trying to slow her down after she sped off from the White House. Both officers were still on the clock despite the government shutdown, but had to do so without pay.
Erin Jackson told ABC News that she believed reports that Carey suffered from a mental illness. Jackson also recognized the black Infiniti sedan on the news and said the tires on the car were slashed recently.
Although much hasn’t been revealed about this angle of the story, NBC News revealed sources told them that Carey thought that President Obama was stalking her.
As the nation waits to see if the chambers of Congress can iron out details over a new spending bill that would fund the government temporarily, Carey’s violent outburst disrupted the debate thus froze all activities on Capitol Hill yesterday.
