Did Nicki Minaj really just pull a Kanye?
Upon Barbie’s unveiling of their one-of-a-kind Zendaya doll, Nicki Minaj took to Instagram to sorta-kinda congratulate the wunderkind on her Mattel creation. How? By reminding 34.7 million followers that Barbie made a pink-wigged Barbz first, two years ago.
“Congrats on your doll, Zendaya,” exclaimed Onika in a post. “Did u know Barbie made me one a cpl years back? It was such an honor & a HUGE surprise. Anyway, I love your doll’s hair! I love what it means for other little girls who will identify with it & be empowered. Continue to be proud of yourself girls!!!!!”
Nicki’s Kanye-esq gesture prompted Zendaya fans to issue a tongue-lashing of their own… And it wasn’t pretty. But what do you think? Was this a genuine compliment?
