Yesterday evening (September 30), the Wu-Tang Clan’s leader RZA was honored for his years of disciple within diet at PETA’s 35th Anniversary party.
The event, which was hosted by Pamela Anderson and Anjelica Huston and featured exclusive performances by Grammy Award-winning icons Sir Paul McCartney and Beck, took place at the Hollywood Palladium.
“I would like to thank PETA for honoring me with a Humanitarian Award. It’s an award that does not aim to reflect my art—it instead reflects my heart. With the abundance of … alternatives, I don’t think it’s mandatory to kill animals in order … to thrive and survive. And, more importantly, it’s definitely not mandatory to kill each other,” the Hip-Hop legend and longtime vegan said after accepting his award on stage.
PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) is the largest animal rights organization in the world and focuses its attention on the safety and well-being of animals through public education, animal rescue, celebrity involvement and protest campaigns. Even if you can’t commit to the RZA’s lifestyle, they still offer various vegan recipes that get solid reviews.
Check out the pictures of RZA getting his shine on at PETA’s 35th Anniversary, as well as several attractive celebrities such as Carrie Ann Inaba and Christen Press.
