Chance The Rapper To Grill Chicken At Chicago Restaurant For Public Education
Chance The Rapper’s philanthropic outreach seems to be never ending. The MC recently announced he will be grilling chicken at a Chicago restaurant to raise money for public school education.
On August 29, Lil’ Chano took to Twitter to announce the appearance. “Meet me at @NandosUSA Michigan Ave opening. I’m grilling on 9/5 @ 6pm to #SupportCPS & raise $ for @SocialWorks_Chi.”
Founded in 1987, Nandos specializes in “Peri-Peri” style Portuguese flamed grilled offerings. An executive from the restaurant explained how the partnership with the rapper was a no-brainer.
“We can’t think of a better ambassador to help Nando’s celebrate the Grand Opening of our flagship Chicago location, and to help support public education in a city we love,” explained Sepanta Bagherpour, Nando’s USA VP of Marketing via a press statement.
“Nando’s has a history of supporting public schools and community non-profits when they open new restaurants, which I really admire,” Chance said. “Besides, they make damn good chicken, so I hope everyone will come out and eat some Peri-Peri chicken and help us raise money for SocialWorks.”
If his rapping abilities are any indication of his skills on the grill, Chicagoans should be in for a real treat. Save us a plate if you are in the Chi.
