Better late than never, Killer Mike takes fans back to his 2012 LP, R.A.P. Music, to drop a visual for “Ghetto Gospel.” Here, the always thoughtful wordsmith exposes the layers of a character that’s trying to live right in the eyes of The Lord.
Few in the rap world expected underground kingpins Killer Mike and El-P to create a smash on their collaborative R.A.P. Music project last year. After dropping one of 2012’s best releases, the unlikely duo sat down with The Combat Jack Show and broke down their undeniable chemistry.
After dropping two of 2012’s best Hip-Hop LPs with R.A.P. Music and Cancer 4 Cure respectively, Killer Mike and El-P unite under one of the illest monikers in rap, Run The Jewels. The impromptu announcement is accompanied by their first song as a formal duo, titled “Get It.”
Killer Mike checked into Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club this morning. Days after his appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman, the Atlanta native had a lot to talk about.
Atlanta rap veteran Killer Mike has been building his own brand since his 2003 debut album Monster. The hefty MC is set to bombard fans with a slew of new releases in the coming year, including a sequel to the critically-acclaimed R.A.P. Music album with collaborator El-P and another album titled The Elegant Elephant.
Even David Letterman knows Killer Mike’s R.A.P. Music was one of 2012’s best albums. Okay, we’re guessing that assertion but last night Killer Kill from Adamsville did appear on the Late Show With David Letterman to perform “Untitled” off said album.
Looks like 2013 will be a great year for tours, the most recent of which will see Big Boi of the legendary OutKast as its headliner. Titled Shoes For Running after track 11 from his experimental Vicious Lies And Dangerous Rumors album, the tour will be the Atlanta native’s first in more than two years.
Killer Mike drops the official video for his incendiary “Reagan,” taken from his critically acclaimed R.A.P. Music album. While the previous fan made video was nothing to sneeze at, the “for real for real” video manages to take the song’s politically conscious rhetoric to a higher level.
