UPDATE: BBC released the supporting video featuring Jay-Z candidly speaking on his dispute with Kanye West, Magna Carta Holy Grail, and more. See that below. After Kanye West released “Big Brother” many moons ago, it was clear that he and partner in rhyme Jay-Z have a friendly competition going. Now, in an interview with Zane Lowe […]
Kanye West has blessed us again. The rapper/producer was heading into LAX when a talkative paparazzo tried to engage him in conversation. Wrong move, buddy.
Now that “Black Skinhead” has been deemed the first official single from Yeezus, Kanye West returns with its highly anticipated accompanying visual. Spoiler alert: it’s, um, very interesting to say the least.
Hit-Boy may no longer be a part of the G.O.O.D. Music fold, but that didn’t stop him from utilizing Kanye West’s “New Slaves” for his own purposes. With that, we receive a remix, titled “New Chain,” that is a bit different both sonically and topic-wise from his former boss’s Yeezus standout.
At times, Kanye West‘s candid interview with W magazine rivaled some of his most egomaniacal moments of all time. However, it also revealed the Chicago rapper’s plans to debut a “capsule collection of jeans, T-shirts, and hoodies for a hip French brand,” which we now know to be A.P.C.
First it was Kanye West with Yeezus. Then it was Jay-Z with Magna Carta Holy Grail. Does that mean the next project in this logical progression is Yeezy and Hova’s reunion album, Watch The Throne 2?
Yeezus was an album marked by ambiguity and unprecedented promotional tactics. With the LP currently in stores, this all changes — perhaps as a result of a less than Kanye West-like performance on the charts — with reports from Billboard’s The Juice saying “Black Skinhead” will be the project’s official single.
Thirty years in, and Rick Rubin aka DJ Double R is still a giant in Hip-Hop music. In a new interview, the Def Jam founder reveals just how daunting the task of molding Kanye West’s new album, Yeezus, really was and he also hints at there being a sequel to the project.
Kanye West’s Yeezus album will top the album sales chart this week, but not by much. J. Cole came in a close second with his sophomore album, Born Sinner, while Mac Miller also made a strong debut with his Watching Movies With The Sound Off project.
Yeezus has not forsaken you, sneakerheads. Kanye West will be giving away 50 pairs of his highly coveted Nike Air Yeezy 2 signature sneakers in the new red colorway.
The sales projections for this week’s new albums are in, and as expected Kanye West’s new Yeezus project is leading the pack. J. Cole, who dropped his sophomore album Born Sinner, is not too far behind, though.
Kanye West willingly credits everyone that contributes to his projects. Now that the info is available for Yeezus, we know that CyHi The Prynce contributed writing to nine of the 10 tracks on the project. Because of this, MTV sat with the G.O.O.D. Music rapper to speak on the process for the album sessions.
