One woman is dead and a man is currently fighting for his life after they both were shot in the head at a San Diego Macy’s parking lot in the early morning, today Christmas Eve.
Reports CBS8:
The victims, both in their 20s, were found in a car parked across from Macy’s Department Store in Westfield Mission Valley Mall on Camino Del Rio North around 1:30 a.m., according to San Diego police homicide Lt. Mike Hastings.
Officers were called to the mall by the woman, who dialed 911 and stated that she was shot near the mall but did not know exactly where she was, he said in a statement.
The motive was under investigation. Macy’s was open during the shooting, and investigators were looking for witnesses to help identify a possible suspect in the case.
Unfortunately the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and investigators said they don’t expect the man to survive his injuries.
The Macy’s and its adjoining mall, Westfield Shoppingtown were still expected to be open for holiday shoppers grabbing those last-minute gifts.
Condolences to all those affected in this tragedy, especially in a time where tranquility is supposed to reign supreme. Hit the gallery for pictures of the scene of the crime.
