Kanye West Not Asked To Perform At Trump's Inauguration
Kanye West Wasn’t Asked To Perform At Trump Inauguration, Not Traditionally American?
Team Trump may have done their Black friend Kanye West a favor. Yeezy was never even asked to perform at the president-elect’s Inauguration, but the reasoning seems quite suspect.
Tom Barrack, the chair of Cheeto Jesus’ Presidential Inaugural Committee said they didn’t ask West to get down, despite their futile search for A-listers to perform, because it wasn’t the venue.
“We haven’t asked him,” he told CNN. “He considers himself a friend of the President-elect, but it’s not the venue. The venue we have for entertainment is filled out, it’s perfect, it’s going to be typically and traditionally American, and Kanye is a great guy but we just haven’t asked him to perform. We move on with our agenda.”
Wait, “not the venue” and “traditionally American”? Now what exactly does that mean?
Instead of Yeezy, Chrisette Michelle will be performing, though—and she has felt the wrath of Twitter.
Think about that. And hey, Team Cheeto did call 2 Chainz, but he knew better.
