The year was 2006 and at the time I operated a website that strictly focused on West Coast-based artists and producers. One of our functions was finding and showcasing new talent that was coming up in the aftermath of veterans like Snoop Dogg, Kurupt, Ice Cube and others who had already established themselves as stars […]

Top Dawg Entertainment is set to take their talents on the road according to label founder Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith.

It has been a very long time coming for Jay Rock to finally come up off that sophomore studio effort, but September 11, 2015 is the day 90059 has been presented to the rest of the world.

Hold the presses. Black Hippy is back (sort of), and we can thank Jay Rock’s “Vice City” for that.

We’re three months into the new year, and TDE have already released two full-length projects in Isaiah Rashad’s Cilvia Demo EP and most recently, ScHoolboy Q’s Oxymoron. But the West Coast label’s plan is to release six albums in total, which CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith finally elaborated on in the cover story on the West Coast crew Billboard Magazine.

Power 106 and Footaction know all too well that ’tis the season for Hip-Hop to be represented to the fullest. And for their Cali Christmas 2013 lineup, they’ve cut no corners in bringing out the biggest and baddest rap stars who shook up the game this year.

ScHoolboy Q isn’t the type to flee from a title if it fits. By this, we mean that he fully embraces his status as a “gangster rapper.”

Rap crews TDE and A$AP Mob are the top of the crop from their respective coasts, known affiliates, and were both on the lineup for Saturday night’s (November 2) Powerhouse show at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center. Before then, both parties sat with The Breakfast Club to discuss their positions in this new generation, friendly competition, upcoming […]

After last night’s 2013 BET Hip-Hop Awards cypher, Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Jay Rock, and Ab-Soul are undoubtedly the topics of conversation. And today, XXL magazine announced that the Black Hippy collective will cover the October/November issue.

The rise of West Coast record label Top Dawg Entertainment is no doubt attributed to the success of its breakout artist, Kendrick Lamar. TDE’s CEO Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith has been a mysterious figure, but the shroud gets lifted in a recent interview where the executive talks signing K-Dot, Jay Rock‘s Warner Bros. deal and […]

A trailer dropped last week, but today we get the full length version of Made In America: TDE Documentary. Jay Z’s Life + Times website trailed Kendrick Lamar, ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul and Jay Rock for about a month to create this inside look at the Black Hippy collective.
