Rhymefest co-wrote “Jesus Walks” and even ran to be an alderman in Chicago, but none of it mattered when he was robbed at gunpoint in his own neighborhood. The rapper took to Twitter to express his dismay at facing down a gun while getting stuck up for his wallet.
“To the young brother that put the gun to my head this morning & took my wallet. You don’t know how you just damaged your community,” wrote Fest Saturday (Aug. 27) morning. “It’s 730am. you just put a gun in my face for $3 in my wallet. I defend you against police brutality, I work on your behalf you robbed me.”
A prolific advocate for Chi-town and a man who actively is trying to alleviate the gun violence plaguing the city, the incident has Rhymefest rethinking his methods.
To add insult to injury, the cops made ‘Fest filing a report into pure struggle.
