Nowadays anyone can shove a microphone into an artist’s face and ask questions. It takes integrity, finesse and wit to conduct a real interview. DJ Envy, Angela Yee and Charlamagne Tha God have that formula down pat.

With only a
couple of years under their belt, The Breakfast Club has grown into one of the most recognizable morning FM shows throughout the country. Need proof? They are already syndicated in several secondary markets throughout the nation and have recently partnered with Diddy to air live on his newly formed Revolt TV network next year.

Their interviews continue to be their signature draw and in 2013 they enjoyed a nice run of Q&A’s. So we present the top 12 The Breakfast Club interviews of 2013.

While this best of list features musicians, CEO’s, actors and the unavoidable reality television stars, one thing remained clear, the sit-downs were memorable.

Let us know which was your favorite interview and why in the comments section below.

Peter Gunz

Interestingly enough Gunz knew his feet were disgusting before he filmed that infamous scene in Love & Hip-Hop. He also knew the world would hate him for marrying the side chick but he needed the check.

Cam’ron

Killa spoke about his split with Vado, a possible Diplomats reunion, his original beef with Jay Z and that he will start wearing capes. We have yet to spot him with the cape, though.

Ja Rule & Irv Gotti

What didn’t we hear about in this almost hour long interview? From Karrine Steffans to drugs to the downfall to the Murder Inc. supergroup, Ja and Irv told it all.

Just Blaze

Just kicked it with the crew talked about the Roc-A-Fella Records days and why Jay Z hasn’t landed on one of his tracks in some time.

2 Chainz

Right after several run ins with the law and almost getting shot in San Francisco, 2 Chainz cleared the air on what happened in the Bay.

Fat Joe

In an hour long sit down, Fat Joe discussed that he and The Notorious B.I.G. were supposed to record an album together, his tax problems and catching a fade on a daily basis while he was younger.

Jay Z

In a surprise to many, Hov stopped by for an interview in which he talked Jay Electronica, Kanye West and being a dad.

Maybach Music Group

It was awkward and hilarious at the same time to see Charlamagne question Stalley about making boring music on the eve of the release of Self Made 3.

Snoop Lion

Even though Snoop was in Reggae mode this day, he still gave an OG interview discussing Suge Knight, 2Pac and more.
