After the south received their crash course in all-things Crenshaw, Nipsey Hussle took his pop-up shop upward to the heart of Brooklyn.
Unlike the last meet-and-greet, the BK store of Vinnie’s Styles incorporated a more party vibe as fans waited to get a photo-op with the rogue independent star. Also joining him on the trip was fellow Left Coast rhymer, YG who told cameras to “look out for his project come the top of 2014.”
Pop-up shops have become trusty promotional vehicles for Hip-Hop artists as of late. Even though his budget would suggest he was above street campaigns, Kanye West has been relying on them heavy in support of his Yeezus tour. It brings a sense of exclusivity to a new city and is a quick way to stir up a buzz.
In Nipsey’s case, the extra fanfare is definitely needed when you’re trying to sell a $100 mixtape which is available for free in digital format.
The blue-blooded MC knows what he’s doing, though and even has the support of one of the greatest Brooklynites to ever do it.
Check out the gallery to see how the rest of the city welcomed him with open arms.
